We left at 6:20 for Jordan Pond. It was too close to sunset to complete the walk around the entire pond, so we just went out a short ways then came back.
A couple stood catching and releasing small fish.
The pumpkinseed (also called sun perch, sunfish, punkie, and kivver) is a freshwater fish endemic to eastern North America. It apparently has a body shaped like a pumpkin seed.
We sat for a while watching the sun start to set over the water.
We began our drive home at 7:40 but couldn't resist stopping at two more overlooks to watch the final colors of the spectacular sunset. We eventually got back to the hotel at 10 pm.
