FOURTH OF JULY (Day 6 - part 6)

We continued on our way...

Crossing North Street.

Two brakemen stop traffic...

... while the conductor signals the horn.

Each of the cars seems to have its own switchbox like this.

Our next adventure was crossing the recently restored Union River Bridge. Bangor Road (1A) is to our left.

We stopped at P164, then began going back the way we had come. The Union River #123 was now the back of the train.

End of our line

Looking out the back as we cross over the bridge again

Crossing North Street again ... and Lejok St.

The blueberry packing plant again ... old tracks

The wetlands...

... and an osprey

Arriving back at Washington Junction

The path of the tracks

We encountered another intense but brief rain storm on our drive back to the Hull Cove visitor center. We were able to find parking easily and caught the 3:50 free shuttle into Bar Harbor. It dropped us off at Village Green park.

Jurrassic Rescue raptors!

This T-rex appears to be snacking on a blue fluffy creature.

We wandered down Main Street. Parking appeared to be an absolute nightmare so we were glad of our shuttle choice.

The symbols of Maine!

Lobster trap buoys cover the side of a building.
